The Doctor is in.

After two weeks of warm up/intro, we are now ready to get down to business. Dr. Bill Clark, will leading us for the next few weeks as we continue our series “Lust Vegas. I know from time to time I strongly encourage guys to attend, but if we had only one shot to get a guy for a few weeks (or one), the next three (or one) would be the ones on which I would go ALL IN.

EVERY guy who is reading (and typing) this is dealing with lust. Every guy you know and the guys they know are dealing with this issue. Some are managing, some are getting their asses handed to them, some are getting glimpses of victory, and some don’t even realize they are in a fight. Yet regardless of which category we fall into (probably all of them at different times) we need to realize that every single man is facing the same issue, and at the same time realize that the consequences will be devastating.

Come on out tomorrow morning and bring a guy that is dealing with the same issue you are (again, that’s every guy) as we go head first into the next few weeks: The Doctor is IN.

Mr Hyde

Men of Fuel

I am sitting in LA at my sales kick off completely bummed thinking about the fact that I will not be able to join you in the am.

Mark Joseph will be continuing our series tomorrow by looking at the part of us that loves Lust Vegas. The part of us that does the things we don’t want to do, and refuses to do the things we want to do.

All of us have been there, and know all too well that internal battle that we all continually fight. What is that inside of us?

In 1886, Robert Lewis Stevenson wrote “The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde”, that told the story of a doctor that created a potion to transform him into the evil Mr Hyde. His thought was this alternate personality would extract all of his evil thus leaving Dr Jekyll completely pure.

Do you remember how the story ended? Mr Hyde completely took over. I have to imagine that the reason the book is still so popular is that each of us have our own Mr Hyde that we continually battle on a daily bases. What’s so crazy is that we continually think we are the only one, which by the way couldn’t be further from the truth.

Set your alarms and come on out tomorrow morning to sit with all of your other Hyde brothers as we continue our series

Lust Vegas

Men of Fuel,

I wish I could have been with you last Wednesday, but one of my customer’s had their sales kick off last week, and I was asked to attend.  The kick off was in Las Vegas, and while I was only in Vegas for 44 hours, I think it was more than enough time.  Don’t get me wrong, I have been to Vegas with my wife and we had an amazing time, going out to great dinners, and got a chance to see a number of amazing shows.  Last week however I was with a bunch of dudes, the same week as the AVN’s, which my Sales Engineer quickly told me was the “Academy awards for Porn”

I find it no coincidence that our new series “Lust Vegas” starts this week.  And while I tried to convince myself that going to the Porn Awards could be explained as research for our series, I realized that I need no additional research for this topic.  This is a topic that plagues every man, and while we sometimes link Lust to Porn, I think the below definition shows that all of us deal with lust in all areas of our life.

Lust is an emotion or feeling of intense desire in the body. The lust can take any form such as the lust for knowledge, the lust for sex or the lust for power. It can take such mundane forms as the lust for food as distinct from the need for food. Lust is a powerful psychological force producing intense wanting for an object, or circumstance fulfilling the emotion. Many religions separate the definition of passion and lust by further categorizing lust as type of passion for something that does not belong to oneself

I am excited about this series and the opportunity that this series gives all of us to invite our friends.  Again it’s something that all of us deal with.  Some battle it, some tolerate it, some ignore it, and some celebrate it.  Regardless of how we view it, it has the potential to wreak havoc on all of our lives.  As a matter of fact with the temperature set to be in the teens this Wednesday morning the LUST for the warmth of our sheets could actually keep us from making it to Fuel

Wouldn’t that be ironic.

It’s time to move (FORWARD) Week 2

Men of Fuel

I will be in the air tomorrow morning so I wanted to get an E-mail out to you to encourage you to set the alarms and bring out a buddy for this Wednesday’s Fuel. Dr. Clark is going to take week two of our “Last Year’s Revelation” series, and if you have ever heard Bill speak before you know it will be great. If you have never heard Bill speak before, let me tell you……it will be great. I wish I could be there with you guys, but I am going to gather some illustrations for our upcoming series.

Last week I promised to share the seven questions that we reviewed last week. Please find them below. Again, I strongly encourage you to review these in details and review them with your wife. Then consider last year done.

1. If the last year were a movie of your life, what would the genre be?
2. What were the two or three major themes that kept recurring?
3. What did you accomplish this past year that you are the most proud of?
4. What do you feel you should have been acknowledged for but weren’t?
5. What disappointments or regrets did you experience this past year?
6. What was missing from last year as you look back?
7. What were the major life-lessons you learned this past year?

It’s time to move (FORWARD)

Men of Fuel

Two years ago this coming June, my wife and I moved from our house in Reston to our new address in Ashburn. Anyone who has gone through this process knows that for the most part it is a giant pain in the rear. Sure the looking for houses on line is fun, but the putting everything that you own into a ton of boxes and moving it across town (state or country) is such a pain that during the process I mentioned that the next time I move it will be into Sunrise Assisted Living………and I have to imagine I won’t be happy about that move either.

I think we might do that in life as well. I think we just hold on to so many things that it ends up being easier to stay where we are instead of moving forward. To be honest I’m not even sure we do this on purpose. I know speaking for myself, I tend to go from day to day, from week to week, from month to month, just keepin on. Until of course something blows, or doesn’t work, and only then do I ever stop to look back over the months, weeks and days to see what I had picked up along the way. What if we did that proactively? What if we could get rid of the stuff that was weighing us down before it started to impede our progress? What if we did it tomorrow morning?

See you guys in the am
