See you in the AM

Men of Fuel

There are very few things that ever live up to the hype that usually surrounds them, except perhaps Beach Week my Sophomore, Junior or Senior year of High School, Spring Break my Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, or Senior year of College, Mardi Gras or New Years in New Orleans, or the Golf Trips to Myrtle Beach 2003-2007, and most recently last Wednesday morning. Awesome time together and pretty fired up to see all of the familiar faces as well as the number of new guys that joined us. Thanks to the guys who invited them out.

Tomorrow we will continue our two week series titled “Unchained”, which will continue to serve as a primer/call to action for our seven week series, The Greatest Story Ever (mis)Told, starting on Sept 26th. I have included the below for you guys to send out to anyone in which you have been investing. Use this as an invite for the 26th. One week, that’s all we ask. If they hate it they never have to come back.

I am as excited for this series as I have been for anything we have done together as a group. I am excited to see what God is doing, I am excited to see what God has planned, excited to see how that impacts each and every one of us, and excited that all of us have an opportunity to be part of it. Let us all share that excitement with the men that God has put into our lives.

See you in the AM

See you in the AM: FUEL Fall 2012 starts up 9/12/2012 at 6:30AM.

Men of Fuel

Well tomorrow morning we will kick off our third year of Fuel (www.MenofFuel.com) at Hidden Creek country club. To be honest I haven’t been this fired up to hang out with a bunch of dudes since Beach Week my Sophomore, Junior or Senior year of High School, Spring Break my Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, or Senior year of College, Mardi Gras or New Years in New Orleans, or the Golf Trips to Myrtle Beach 2003-2007………the point is, I am pretty fired up.

As the website (www.Menoffuel.com) indicates we will start a two week series tomorrow titled “Unchained”, which will serve as a primer/call to action for our seven week series, The Greatest Story Ever (mis)Told, starting on Sept 26th. Let me encourage you to send the link (https://menoffuel.com/the-greatest-story-ever-mistold) on to friends as this is a series that is tailor made for them.

As we speak our workbooks/Guides for the series are at the printer and over the next two weeks through the series ‘Unchained” we will discuss more about the series “The Greatest Story ever (mis)Told and the driving force behind the series.

Again, I am fired up to see you guys in the am back at Hidden Creek CC (https://menoffuel.com/directions). We will START at 6:30am sharp.

Invest and Invite

The Greatest Story Ever (MIS)Told

What if something you believed wasn’t true, would you want to know?  An interesting question, and it was in fact the question that was the driving force behind this series.  The more you ponder that question, the more we believe that you will come to one conclusion – it depends.  It depends on how important the thing is that you believe that isn’t true.  Most likely, how badly you will want to know if something you believe isn’t true will be directly proportionate to what the consequences of that incorrect belief are.

How Important Is It?

If you believe that Jiff peanut butter uses more fresh peanuts than Skippy, the consequences of that belief being wrong are fairly insignificant.  Consider on the other hand if you believed that smoking wasn’t bad for you and that, in fact, it actually had some health benefits.  The consequences of that incorrect belief could be quite devastating to many people.  However, people still have a choice to make – what you do with that information is up to you.

What has God actually said?

Our goal in this short series is to clear up some potential misconceptions about God that you might believe.  To clear up areas where what you believe isn’t true.  What you do with that information is ultimately up to you.  At the conclusion of our series you are free to do what you want with that information, but at least you aren’t making decisions based on something that isn’t true.  We simply want to try to better clarify and give you a better picture of who God is, and what His message is to us today.  That’s all.  Ultimately, you may not act on something you know to be true, but you certainly won’t act on something that you believe isn’t true.

All Comers – Something for Everyone

We are not assuming that you enter this series believing any, or all, of the incorrect beliefs about God that we will cover.  In fact, for you, some or all of the areas covered may be things that you already don’t believe.  They will be things that you already believe are not true.  In other words, what you believe is true is true!  That is great!  This series is for you as well.  Our hope is that you will walk about more sure of what you believe and with a new depth of understanding.

We Want to Hear From You

We certainly don’t have all the answers and are not here to tell you what to believe.  You are free to disagree!  In fact, we have intentionally created an environment where you will have time to discuss what we cover each week.  This is meant to be a dialogue, not a monologue.

When and Where?

Our series “The Greatest Story Ever (MIS)Told” begins on Sept 26th from 6:30 – 7:30am at Hidden Creek Country Club (1711 Clubhouse Rd, Reston, VA 20190).

TWO WEEKS !!! (FUEL 2012 is starting up again Sept 12)

WHAT???????

Serious????? Only two weeks??????

I had to check twice to make sure I was looking at the calendar correctly, but it’s true.

Today is the 29th, and a week from today is the 5th, and a week after that is the 12th.

Man does time fly.

Now while we are two weeks out (Sept 12th) from Fuel starting back up, we are only eight days away from getting together at Champps (11694 Plaza America Dr, Reston, VA 20190) for Happy Hour on Sept 6th at 5:00pm.  It should be a slow week, so try to swing by.  We will be there for a couple of hours, but try to swing by, and please take full advantage of this by inviting a guy that you have been trying to get to come out on Wednesday mornings.

Believe me when I tell you that you won’t ever have an easier opportunity to expose someone, that you have been trying to invite to Fuel, to the guys that show up Wednesday mornings.  Take full advantage of this.  We pay for appetizers, you pay for drinks.

Look forward to seeing you guys in eight days

Family Guy: Week II

This past year we walked through a series titled: My House.  During our time in that series we looked at how the house we grew up in had an impact, not only on who we are as a person, but potentially the house we live in today.  In week two of our Family Guy series we will look at how we have an opportunity to create a powerful family culture.

Just as the house that we grew up in, had a direct impact on who we are, imagine the impact that you could have on generations to come by creating a powerful family culture.  Imagine the amount of pain that could be avoided if every man set out to create that type of family culture.  Imagine the type of individuals a house like that would produce.  Imagine joining us tomorrow morning for week two of Family Guy

See you guys in the am……..7am that is.
